Normally a Super Bowl commercial is just the start to a long air time of advertising, but for the 2002 Superbowl, our first after 9-11, Budweiser aired a one time tribute. The Budweiser Clydesdales run through to New York City and kneel before the skyline with the big gap where the Twin Towers used to stand. This one still brings tears to my eyes.
Two buddies comparing smart phones, and one has that extra feature that no company really talks about, Crime Deterrant. When his buddy asks “wha?” and tries to take his wallet, he finds out that crime deterrant is just getting a phone thrown at you.
Celbrities and soda go together like peanut butter and jelly, but this may have been the commercial to really hit that home. Coca-Cola hired Joe Greene for a brief spot. A small child offers him his soda, and Joe guzzles the entire soda right infront of him. By the end though, Joe has a big teddy bear heart and gives the child his game jersey.
I can't help but enjoy when a celebrity can embrace and poke a little fun at themselves, so when Willie Nelson had some tax problems, he teamed up with H&R Block to make this commercial. Don Zimmer also makes an appearance in this commercial
Picking up hitchhikers has a bad rap, add an ax to the hitchhiker's luggage and most people wouldn't stop. Given that this guy has Bud Light though, the ax can easily be overlooked, especially since it is just a bottle opener.
I love Betty White – she has such a sense and delivery of humor that has lasted decades. Betty White playing football – hilarious! And I can't help but to have enjoyed seeing Betty White tackled, not to mention Abe Vigoda getting sacked at the end
Who knew herding cats was such a hard job. Cat Herding is the toughest job out there, and this commercial shares the tribulations and the victory of bringing a herd to town.
This is another that only aired for Super Bowl. This was really the start of big things for Apple. Not only is it a tribute to George Orwell's novel “1984,” but Apple hired Ridley Scott to direct this ad. This was the introduction of the Macintosh to the world and it was an awesome way to role it out.
We all love cute babies, right, well what about cute babies who invest. The goal is to show how easy it is to buy stock, even if you still spit up on yourself a little bit.
