Cable can be a luxury for those on a budget. However, solace does exist in the form of Netflix. Once a source of terror for since-slain brick-and-mortar video rental stores like Blockbuster and Hollywood Video, now Netflix has outright disassociated with physical dvds (for the most part) in favor of its streaming services (for which an additional, separate per-month fee must be paid). But while the film pickin's may be slim, there are a great number of 'premium' (I know, I hate the word too) T.V. series offered which make Netflix a fine alternative to the cable bill. After all, $8-9/month is much better than that $80 package you could never take full advantage of (come on, who really needs 1000+ channels...).
